Political leaders’ support for reconciliation, mutual respect need of hour: Solangi

Caretaker Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi has said political leaders’ support for reconciliation and mutual respect is need of the hour to deal with the challenges faced by the country.

In an interview with PTV today, he said the political parties should demonstrate immense responsibility in bringing political and economic stability in the country.

Murtaza Solangi urged all elected members of the assemblies to work collectively for the betterment of the country irrespective of their political affiliation.

The Minister said caretaker government has fulfilled its constitutional responsibility. He said we have fulfilled our promise of making improvement in every sector before handing over the governance to the elected members.

Counting on different measures during last six months of interim government to improve country’s economy, he said we have never used a single rupee of taxpayers on our advertisement campaigns. Similarly, we tried our best to cool down the political temperature during election campaign.

The Minister further said that the caretaker government provided every possible support including security and finance to the Election Commission for peaceful and transparent conduct of general elections.

At foreign front, we had to deal a major challenge of Pak-Iran conflict in which the fastest escalation was converted into a fastest de-escalation. Over six hundred thousand illegal foreigners were repatriated during our tenure. We also streamlined the privatization process under the platform of SIFC.

Murtaza Solangi said now it is responsibility of the elected government to bring reforms to the institutions and ensure rule of law for country’s betterment.

He expressed hope that the newly elected government would lead the country out of all crises.

Terming the PTI’s letter to IMF a political stunt, he said it will not halt the IMF process. He said this letter has produced nothing for PTI, but just some headlines in media.
