Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar has urged media to increase awareness regarding prevention of smuggling, power theft and other measures benefiting the common man.
He was talking to a delegation of All Pakistan Newspaper Society that called on him in Islamabad today.
The Prime Minister said media has a key role in ensuring good governance and providing awareness to the public. He said media is the fourth pillar of the state and is of utmost importance in the development of the society and the mental and intellectual training of the people.
The Prime Minister said media can play an important role in communicating the importance of the economic stabilization strategy under the Special Investment Facility Council to the public.
He also assured government’s full cooperation to resolve the issues facing the newspaper industry.
