National Assembly echoed with strong sentiments on both sides of the aisle today against the tragic incident in Sahiwal.
Taking Floor in the House, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Shahbaz Sharif said whole nation is dejected over the tragic incident in Sahiwal. He said the conflicting statements made by Punjab government over the incident further added fuel to the fire. He demanded of the government to bring real facts before the public.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf of PPP said killing of an innocent family by the law enforcing agencies is an inhuman act. He demanded to form a parliamentary committee on Sahiwal incident.
Khwaja Asif of PML-N said the Sahiwal incident has added the sense of insecurity among people. He urged the House to play its role in degradation of the society by such acts.
Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen M. Mazari emphasized to restructure police department in order to change its colonial mindset. She also asked the MNAs to bring solid and concrete suggestions in order to avoid the recurrence of such incidents in future.
