Independence Day observed with great zeal, fervour at Pakistani missions & embassies

The Independence Day of Pakistan was observed with patriotic zeal and spirit at Pakistan missions across the world.

The Pakistani Ambassadors hoisted the national flag at the respective Pakistani Missions and Embassies, while the national anthem was played.

The envoys read out the messages of President Dr Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Imran Khan on the Independence Day and highlighted the sacrifices of forefathers during the Pakistan Movement.

They also shed light on the country’s economic turnaround despite Covid-19 pandemic and particularly the ongoing Indian oppression of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The events were attended by the diplomatic community, officials of the embassy, Pakistani expatriates and local notables.

In Britain, flag hoisting ceremony was held at Pakistan’s high Commission in London, where High Commissioner in UK, Moazzam Ahmad Khan hoisted the national flag.

On behalf of the President of Pakistan, the High Commissioner conferred Sitara-e-Pakistan and Sitara-e-Quaid-e-Azam on Baroness Sayeeda Warsi and Yasmin Qureshi MP respectively.

Addressing the national flag hoisting ceremony at Pakistani Embassy in Washington, Dr Asad Majeed Khan underscored the important role of Pakistani-American diaspora for socio-economic development of the country and building a closer partnership between Pakistan and the United States.

In China, national flag hoisting ceremony was held at Pakistani Embassy in Beijing, where Pakistani Ambassador to China Moinul Haque hoisted the national flag.

The flag hoisting ceremonies were also held in Turkey, India, France, Belgium, Canada, Japan, Bangladesh, Qatar, UAE, Tajikistan, Kenya, Mauritius, Ethiopia, Sudan, Rwanda, Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Kuwait, Maldives, Iran, Azerbaijan, Thailand, Austria, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Australia and other countries.
