Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been given imprisonment of seven years in Alazizia Steel Mills corruption reference and also fined one and a half billion rupees.
Judge Arshad Malik of Accountability Court read the short decision a short while ago. Mian Nawaz Sharif has been acquitted in Flagship Investments reference. The decision had been reserved by Accountability Judge Mohammad Arshad Malik on Wednesday last.
After the decision, Mian Nawaz Sharif was arrested from the accountability court and brought to NAB headquarters for medical check-up.
Earlier, Nawaz Sharif requested the NAB court judge to shift him to Kot Lakhpat Jail Lahore instead of Adiyala Prison in Rawalpindi which was accepted.
