The programme provided trainers and counsellors with technical insights, official preparation resources and practical guidance on the enhanced TOEFL iBT test
LAHORE, Pakistan, September 17, 2026: ETS, a global education and talent solutions organisation and the creator of the TOEFL iBT test, hosted a TOEFL Experience Day at LAHORE on September 17, 2026. Marking ETS’s first official in-person TOEFL Experience Day in Pakistan, the programme brought together 140 participants, including English-language trainers, TOEFL preparation professionals, counsellors, educators and channel partners.
Led by ETS experts and senior leaders from its South Asia team, the structured training introduced participants to the four strategic pillars of TOEFL: Fair, Agile, Smart and Tailored (FAST). The programme also provided focused guidance on the four skills assessed by the TOEFL iBT test: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening. The sessions enabled participants to better understand the enhanced test format, delivery and assessment approach, clarify test-related questions and align their preparation practices more closely with the test.
Participants received official TOEFL preparation and classroom-support resources, including the TOEFL Overview Booklet, lesson plans, a study planner, access to TOEFL Practice Online and the pocket edition of the TOEFL Guide. These resources were designed to help trainers and counsellors translate the programme’s technical insights into structured preparation support for test takers.
Pakistan remains a high-potential outbound education market, supported by sustained interest in international higher education and growing demand for English-language proficiency certification. ETS currently has 10 TOEFL test centres in Pakistan. The TOEFL iBT Home Edition further extends access for eligible test takers beyond major cities, while ETS works with 100 channel partners in Pakistan to build awareness through student sessions, seminars and local engagement.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Karan Lalit, Executive Director, South Asia, TOEFL and GRE, ETS, said, “Pakistan is an important market for international education, with students increasingly evaluating destinations through the lens of academic quality, career outcomes and long-term mobility. Trainers and counsellors are central to helping them navigate these choices and prepare effectively. Through the TOEFL Experience Day in Lahore, we brought official test information and ETS’s assessment expertise directly to those who guide students every day. By strengthening their understanding of the enhanced TOEFL iBT test, we aim to support more informed preparation and help students access a wider range of international education opportunities.”
The TOEFL Experience Day reflects ETS’s continued engagement with Pakistan’s trainer and education community. By providing direct access to official test information, technical guidance, and preparation resources, ETS aims to strengthen the support available to students and help them approach the TOEFL iBT test and their international education journey with greater clarity and confidence.
